Tree King: one crew to two
Tree King is a tree removal and pruning company in Ottawa, owned by Tom Atkin. Before working with us, Tom paid another agency every month with no conversion tracking and no reports, so there was no way to tell whether the money was working. This is what changed, with the dates attached.

338 leads from Google Ads
From April 13 to September 29, 2026, Tree King's Google Ads brought in 338 leads: real people who called or asked for a quote, counted once each. Campaigns are split by the jobs Tree King wants most, with search terms that never hire, such as tree jobs and DIY searches, excluded month by month. How we run that platform is on our Google Ads management page.
The full week-by-week numbers are public in Tree King's Google Ads results.
About $70,000 more in September, without a storm
In Tom's words, sales in September 2026 were about $70,000 higher than September 2025, and Tree King went from running one crew to running two busy crews. September 2025 had a major storm in Ottawa and September 2026 didn't, so the comparison isn't flattered by emergency work.
Facebook ads: 574 leads, and the ads that sold
Tree King's Facebook and Instagram ads brought in 574 leads. We matched every paid lead from April 7 to October 29, 2026 to the work Tree King sold in its job records: the work sold came to about 8 times the combined Google and Facebook ad spend. Facebook returned about 9 times its spend across 163 jobs, and Google about 6.6 times across 109 jobs.
The best ad style was the machine ad, real footage of the spider lift or the chipper at work, returning close to 9 times its spend. Testimonial and supercut ads returned almost nothing and were switched off. When the account went months without a new ad, the return fell, so new ads now go in every month and proven winners are rested and brought back rather than retired.
Answering fast matters more on Google
Tree King's Google leads that were quoted within a day sold 47% of the time. Leads quoted after a week sold 32% of the time. Facebook leads held at about a third whatever the speed. Our speed to lead guide covers a routine a small team can keep.
30 leads from organic search in four weeks

We also rebuilt Tree King's website and track every lead on it by where the visitor first came from. From October 9 to November 5, 2026, the site got 30 leads whose first visit came from an unpaid Google result: 19 quote requests and 11 calls started. Google Business Profile leads, 16 over the same weeks, are counted on their own line. Our guide on how to measure tree service SEO explains the method.
